I like when things happen that should happen: Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock are teaming up with Bridesmaids director Paul Feig for a buddy cop comedy. There is no title yet but Katie Dippold (Parks & Recreation) is writing the script and Feig is directing Sandra as an uptight FBI agent and McCarthy as a Boston cop. You guys, I love this already…
I know we all hate it when people proclaim their love for something before they’ve even seen it… BUT HONESTLY, with these 4 people involved ALREADY, if this sucks in even the slighest I don’t know what I will do. This sounds awesome and it sounds like a dream project. It sounds like something you’d just conjure up and be like, “You know? Sandra and Melissa should do a comedy together, that’d work. It has to work” BUT IT HAS TO WORK.
I think this is smart of Sandra Bullock to do. Some people might think that she shouldn’t do something so trivial and immature as this after winning an Oscar, but, um… this is the star of Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous so… But I think Sandra planned out her post Oscar career just the way she wanted it do. She fulfilled the expected dramatic follow up role with Extremely Loud & Incredibly No One Cared and has Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity that has been pushed to 2013, naturally, and other than that her slate is quite free. She stepped away from the spotlight in a major fashion because she knew – and said countless times – everyone is sick of seeing my face so I’m going away for a long time.
With all the comedic talent involved, this will be very good. I can already feel the great chemistry between Sandra & Melissa.
This could be big, people!
